The Boston Harbor Association:
Celebrating 43 years!
Lois Nesbitt. 2016. 18×24 collage on paper.
Commissioned exclusively for the 2016 Harbor Celebration and Auction, this collage celebrates The Boston Harbor Association’s restoring/creating 50 miles of waterfront walking trails in previously inaccessible or industrialized areas. The upper left (in black and white) reveals the industrial landscape that, due to TBHA’s extraordinary vision, has been preserved along much of this walking trail, which is really a trail through the history of Boston’s waterfront. The foreground images show people of all stripes enjoying the walk amid park lands and blue waters. The upper right shows the actual Harborwalk in use, as well as the Boston skyline viewed the Boston Harborwalk. Water meets land, decay meets renewal, urban yields to nature. All for the delight of every individual who walks these paths.
You can place a bid on this commemorative piece HERE on the Boston Harbor Association website. The live auction takes place on Monday, April 25 2016 at Boston Harbor Hotel.
